Something truly beautiful happened to me yesterday and I wanted to share it…
I work, part time, in a sun bed shop. It’s a good job, it fits in well between my main job which is dance, singing and acting teacher to a fabulous bunch of kids. And today while I was working these two very lovely women walked in from the local church.
They explained to me that from time to time they go around the local business and offer prayer to anyone who may need it. They asked me about myself and what I do and then they asked me if I could do with a prayer whether it be personal or for business.
I said I could do with a prayer for my confidence as there are so many things I want to do but bringing myself to do them can be difficult. They asked where this may have come from and I explained I had been diagnosed with anxiety earlier this year and that that had developed from years of over thinking and self consciousness. They were so understanding of just how much that can hold a person back, even if they don’t realise that’s what’s happening.
So one of the women then asked if she could say a prayer for me then and there. And she did.
And I must say it was one of the most truly touching experiences I’ve had in a long time, just in that these two women had walked in only to offer goodness and support. They didn’t ask me if I was religious, they didn’t ask em if I attended church or had sinned or lived a good life- they offered love and prayer for anyone who may need it.
The prayer itself was beautiful, about me finding my way and having the strength and courage to not be dragged down by the anxiety that has held me back and even if that means I head down a different path to not see that as a door closing but another door opening to a different amazing place.
Now I have never claimed to be particularly religious, I don’t judge anyone by their religious beliefs however they may be. Regardless that was a truly uplifting and inspirational moment that came from two perfect strangers.
And I am really grateful.
It just goes to show that anyone can show that kind of love and support to anyone who may need it with no judgement or preconceptions.
Be kind to one another, you never know what other people are going through.
Be kind to yourself there is so much to deal with in this world, make sure you give yourself the time and space to do so xx
